I am the wife of a bridge builder. He works long hard hours 100s of miles from our home. I am also the mother of a bridge builder, how wonderful it is to see father and son work side by side building such a beautiful thing. I am truly in awe of the whole process. We stay in motels 20 days a month...I have learned a few tricks and hacks that I'd like to share. Here are 2 to get you started 1. Most motels have a construction worker rate. Usually a lower rate for all 7 days of the week. Weekly and monthly rates. Be sure to ask the manager/owner ahead of time. We did research on all the motels in the area before the job started. They are more likely to give a decent rate when the mention of how many additional rooms you and your crew will need.  2. If staying at a Choice or Wyndham motel...sign up for the perks on their websites to get a member number and get points toward free nights. They rack up fast when you stay as often as we do. Download the mobile app and check it often..
