Grandson

We have a new grandson, first one, not to sound like a proud grandma, but I'm pretty sure he's perfect. I spent the last 3 weeks here in Missouri, I'm really missing being with my husband but have found a new lease on life. My adult children have needed me more this year than they have in many. It's nice to be needed again. I don't feel old I feel wise, and that makes me feel confident that the advice I give is good advice .

Grandma and Grandpa 
I spent this last week helping Liam's momma at home, what a blessing this little guy is. Momma did wonderful,I have complete faith in her abilities as a loving, nurturing, mature mother. I am going to miss being with little man, but I'm ready to be with MY MAN now!!

Small town, U.S.A. We have moved to a new bridge in SHenandoah iowa, It's a bridge in a State Park, Rapp Park. It won't take too long, thank goodness because the lodging rate here is OUTRAGEOUS!! But it is what it is. Karry Shurke Godbersen-Smith suffered a terrible loss this last month, Karry, one of the main bosses, passed away after a terrible wreck. He was a nice guy, he is the one that interviewed and hired Luke and Donovan, I guess you could say, he is the one that changed our life. Rest in Peace.  Karry Shurke   Obit Im looking forwardto a little break at Christmas, I think the whole crew is in need of a little break, from each other and from the job. Im so glad to be out of Dubuque, the bridge is BEAUTIFUL.

Dubuque and the out of town worker

If you happen to work construction and you have to stay in Dubuque for weeks at a time, which a lot of people have lately with all they road construction going on...this is what you have to choose from...motel 6 (prostitutes and drug dealers) $50 plus tax a night. Skyline (tiny 1960's rooms that looks abandoned), and the Days Inn(that's where we are) Dubuque has other hotels...if your boss offers to pay for your room then opt for the mainstays!! Let me tell you a  little about the SHAM that we've come across. The motel we stay at has offered us room at a lower rate, the housekeepers come by daily and make your beds, give you fresh towels, etc. they offer breakfast in the morning, its kinda cool looking. Sounds good right? Well I'm here throughout the day so I get to watch the day to day. Housekeepers come in your room and leave your door wide open while they MOVE your stuff around, take the towels so they can maybe wash them...but they usually give the workers the sta...
